Dr. Petra Schniewind

Born and raised in Frankfurt/Main. Magister Artium degree [comparable with Master of Arts] in art history, classical archaeology, and modern German literature at Johann Wolfgang Goethe-Universität in Frankfurt/Main and Ludwig Maximilians-Universität, Munich. Graduate scholarship from Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung. 1984 completion of a Dr. phil. degree under Prof. Piel on Christian Wilhelm Ernst Dietrich (1712–1774) und die Problematik des Eklektizismus [Christian Wilhelm Ernst Dietrich (1712–1774) and the problem of eclecticism] (published by Mäander-Verlag under the author’s name Petra Michel).

From 1984 to 1989: art manager at the ASB Gallery in Maximilianstrasse, Munich. Then, founding of artproject and continuation of art mediation schemes as a freelance curator, research associate, and expert on the work of C. W. E. Dietrichs.
